    INTRODUCTION

    We are into supply, testing and commissioning of Indoor / Outdoor VCB Panel since the year 2004. A VacuumCircuitBreaker(VCB) is such a kind of Circuit Breaker wherein the ArcQuenching takes place in vacuum. The technology is suitable for mainly MediumVoltageApplications. For HigherVoltage, VacuumTechnology has been developed but not commercially viable. The operation of opening and closing of current carrying contacts and associated arc interruption take place in a vacuum chamber in the breaker which is called VacuumInterrupter. The Vacuum Interrupter consists of a SteelArc Chamber in the centre symmetrically arranged ceramic insulators. The vacuum pressure inside a VacuumInterrupter is normally maintained at 10– 6 bar. The VacuumCircuitBreaker is today recognised as a most reliable current interruption technology for MediumVoltageSwitchgear. It requires minimum maintenance compared to other circuit breaker technologies.
